Cherokee Alphabet
The Cherokee Trading Post is located on what is referred to today as The Trail of Tears in Southeast Missouri. It was founded in 1827 by Ralph and Pauline O'Shannon; they were immigrants from Irelan. The store was nameless however, until Ronald and Kathy O'Shannon took over in 1955 at which time they took it's present name in honor of The Trail of Tears. The trading post carries a wide variety of products ranging from western footwear to authentic Native American Artwork and jewelry. There is also a large selection of music CDs and accessories of all types. Don't forget to visit the museum! There is a brief history of The Trail of Tears and the trading post.
